Have you created a Facebook page for your business in the last little while? If you have you might have noticed that the URL to your Facebook page is not as readable as you would probably want it to be.
This is something that a lot of companies really look to do when it comes to having a presence on Facebook. So how do you get it? It used to be that only Facebook pages with 1000 likes or more could qualify for a custom URL for their Facebook page and Facebook probably decided to do this so that people couldn’t squat on names like Coca Cola, The Gap or countless other brands.
Facebook has recently relaxed its measures on who can get a custom URL and the criteria to qualify for this by dropping it to 25 likes. So if your Facebook page has 25 or more likes then you qualify for this feature that Facebook used to only provide the elite companies and people. You can set this up by doing the following…
Step 1: Login to Facebook and go to your Facebook page.
Step 2: Click on the “Edit Info” link at the top of the page usually located by the name of your Facebook page and this will direct you to the “Basic Information” section of your Facebook page.
Step 3: Look for the “Username” field on this information page as shown below and follow the prompts that Facebook pages will provide you to find a unique Facebook page URL.
After you’ve got this done make sure that you update anywhere you’ve used the old Facebook page URL to the newly created one so that people can still find you or your business online easily.
