How to Change Your “Voice” on Facebook Pages

With all the recent changes to Facebook in the past few months I wanted to point out one change that will have you talking on your Facebook pages as yourself or the name of your Facebook page when posting updates.  So whether you want to post as yourself or under the alias of your Facebook page you can do this now.  So how can you do this in facebook?

Step 1: Go to your Facebook page after you’ve logged into Facebook (Note: You will need to setup a Facebook page first to use the “Voice” functionality and if you are logged in under your profile you will not see the “Voice” option on the right hand side top menu)

Step 2: Now that you are on your Facebook page you should notice the following options in the header section of Facebook.  Clicking on the “You are posting, commenting, and liking as Facebook page name — Change to Your Name” link changes who you are posting, commenting and liking as on Facebook and gives you a way to post as yourself or your Facebook page name.

Hi. I just created a facebook page for my business. When I am on my business page I can change my “voice” between my personal page and business page, but as soon as I leave my business page my voice automatically returns to my personal voice. I cannot “like” any pages or post any comments outside of my business page with my business voice. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Hey Leslie,

What you are referring to when you leave the Facebook page is normal functionality but what I do personally in cases like this is when I want to bring something into my Facebook page is I will actually click “Share” on the thing that I want to show in my Facebook page, select the Facebook page I want to share it on and add any remarks. Once its shared I can then like it as the Facebook page. I hope that helps you Leslie!
